2025 apprenticeship fair: Montech interacts with the next generation of professionals

For many companies, training young professionals is a central part of their responsibility to the economy and society. Montech has also been involved in vocational training for many years, enabling young people to enter technical professions. Participation in the 2025 apprenticeship fair in Derendingen-Luterbach provided an opportunity to make this commitment visible and establish direct contact with young people.

The apprenticeship fair was held in November in Derendingen-Luterbach (Switzerland) for the 14th time, organized by the Junge Wirtschaftskammer in Solothurn. This regional vocational orientation event aims to facilitate the transition of young people from school to the professional world. Montech was present again this year. On the one hand, our company headquarters are also located in Derendingen, which means that the trade fair takes place virtually on our doorstep. On the other hand, Montech itself is a training company. The fair is thus an optimal platform for recruiting potential future specialists.

A look behind the scenes

At this year’s apprenticeship fair, more than 40 companies from the Solothurn region presented their apprenticeships, showcasing over 80 different job profiles. The fair was deliberately aimed not only at students, but also at parents and other visitors to help make young people’s decisions as easy as possible. Visitors received far more than theoretical information: They spoke directly with experts, were able to ask questions, and experienced first-hand how diverse the career paths after school can be. The aim of the fair: To give young people orientation and arouse their enthusiasm. Those who are still unsure will find new places to start. If you already have an idea, you can think more about it – or rethink it altogether.

Montech as a local training company

As an active training company, Montech is committed to helping young people early on and giving them realistic insights into various technical professions. Montech trains EFZ designers, production mechanics, and logistics specialists, and, depending on the situation, also provides training with a professional certificate (EBA) and shortened training courses. The local team demonstrated the opportunities that training at Montech offers, showing learners how they experience their everyday work, and why we attach such great importance to further development. The young people were able to speak directly with our vocational trainers – an opportunity that often provides more valuable insights than any brochure.

The value of personal contact

For many visitors, these conversations with the experts were particularly enriching. They not only explained job profiles, but also made them tangible with the help of concrete examples from everyday work. Such meetings help young people to develop or clarify initial ideas about their professional future. These conversations were also exciting for Montech: They reveal where young people stand, the questions they are concerned with, and which topics are particularly relevant to the next generation.

Insight into a diverse professional world

The 2025 apprenticeship fair not only provided an information platform, but also inspiration. The diversity of the professions represented – from technical and manual to commercial and social activities – made it clear how broad career opportunities are after school. As a training company, Montech helps make this diversity tangible. Participation in events like the apprenticeship fair fosters a direct exchange between young people and companies. This dialogue is valuable for both sides and contributes to the further development of vocational training.
