TB30 versus TB40 – two belt conveyor solutions, two application profiles
If you want to design material flows efficiently, you need a belt conveyor that fits exactly with the process, the product, and the environment. With the TB30 and TB40 belt conveyors, Montech offers two sophisticated belt conveyor platforms that specifically address different requirements – from maximum flexibility to compact, integrated drive technology. But what are the specific differences? And which system is suitable for which application?
Belt conveyors are far more than just transport elements. They affect cycle times, process stability, maintenance, and energy efficiency. Selecting the right system determines how economical it is to operate. With the TB30 and TB40 belt conveyors, Montech offers two modular belt conveyors, each with different priorities. Both systems are based on proven Montech technology: Standardized components, fast integration, a wide variety of variants, long-term operational reliability, and short delivery times. The difference lies in the details – especially in the design, the drive concept, and the typical range of applications.
TB30 belt conveyor: Maximum flexibility for individual conveyor lines
The TB30 belt conveyor is consistently designed for adaptability. Its design allows for different belt widths, lengths, and configurations, making it particularly suitable for customer-specific line concepts. Whether as a single-belt, double-belt, or tandem solution, the system can be precisely adapted to the material being transported and the process. Especially for applications with varying product formats or frequent layout changes, the TB30 conveyor belt shines. Its modular design enables flexible integration into existing systems and easy scaling as production requirements change. There is also a variety of accessories for the TB30 belt conveyor, such as side guides and floor stands.
Depending on the application, a head or center drive is available. The center drive can be freely positioned along the entire free chassis length, enabling particularly flexible integration. This allows the belt conveyor to be optimally adapted to the respective installation situation and seamlessly integrated into different system layouts. At the same time, the efficiency-optimized drive ensures high energy efficiency. Compared to conventional asynchronous geared motors, it noticeably reduces power consumption, thereby lowering operating costs.
The advantages of the TB30 belt conveyor include:
- A wide range of profile widths and designs
- Conveyor lengths up to 10 meters
- Freely positionable center drive for maximum layout freedom
- Energy-efficient, optimized drive
- Wide variety of variants thanks to standardized accessories
The TB30 belt conveyor is therefore particularly suitable for production lines where flexibility and adaptability are the priorities. Even for sensitive products or applications where the product has to be accessed from below – for example, in inspection or assembly processes – the system offers clear design advantages and supports efficient, reliable integration.
TB40 belt conveyor – compact design with integrated power
While the TB30 belt conveyor offers maximum configuration freedom, the TB40 belt conveyor impresses with its particularly compact, performance-oriented design and an installation height of only 80 mm. Its core is the integrated 24 V BLDC motor in the drive roller, which can be parameterized via a PLC to precisely adapt speed, acceleration, and braking characteristics to the respective application.
This integrated design significantly reduces installation effort by reducing the need for external components, while maintaining a slim, closed design. This makes the TB40 belt conveyor ideal for applications with limited installation space. At the same time, it enables the reliable transport of higher loads and is thus a powerful and economical solution, especially for robust, standardized conveying processes.
The TB40 belt conveyor is the right choice if:
- There are defined, constant process conditions
- Selectable fixed speeds
- Compact system layouts are required or
- An energy-efficient 24 V solution is desired.
Which solution fits which application?
The decision between the TB30 and TB40 belt conveyors is not a question of better or worse, but of the specific requirements of your application. The TB30 belt conveyor is the ideal choice when maximum flexibility, individual adaptability, and layout freedom are required. The TB40 belt conveyor, on the other hand, is recommended for compact situations, with integrated drive technology and clearly defined process parameters. Both systems stand for Montech’s proven quality and modularity and enable reliable, efficient, and economical design of state-of-the-art material flows – today and with a view to future requirements.
