The challenge
Pneutronic AG has been a leading provider of solutions in process automation for more than 30 years. Its portfolio ranges from the integration of automation and robotics systems to software engineering and control technology on through specialized controls for fine-cutting presses. In one project, this Swiss company faced the challenge of efficiently transporting various components of different sizes and weights on the same belt conveyor. The components are heavily soiled, rusty, and stacked. They exceed the total weight that can be supported by a single belt conveyor. In addition, the components must not tip over and they must be precisely aligned and centered to ensure error-free removal by a robot at the end of the conveying process.
The solution
Montech developed a custom-tailored solution for Pneutronic based on our standardized
belt conveyors and floor stands. Using the configurator, Pneutronic was able to address many requirements by itself and select the appropriate belt conveyors quickly. In order to ensure the safe transport of components across various belt conveyor sections, we designed the transitions so that the stacked components cannot tip over. We developed a special solution for the last section of the conveyor line, which was a particular challenge. It is based on a standard belt conveyor, which we modified to precisely align and center the components for robot removal.
