Why Fraunhofer certifications for cleanroom belt conveyors are so important

Certification by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA) is considered to be reliable proof of the highest cleanliness standards. Why this certification is so important and how Montech wins customers over with its tested cleanroom belt conveyors.

Fraunhofer IPA is one of the world’s leading institutions when it comes to cleanroom technology, production cleanliness, and particle analysis. Your TESTED DEVICE® certificate is not a superficial seal of approval, but the result of extensive tests that simulate real operating conditions. Among other things, the following tests are conducted:

  • Particulate discharge during operation,
  • Stability of the system at different speeds,
  • Behavior of materials and drive units in the cleanroom, and
  • Suitability according to ISO 14644-1 and 14644-14.

Only systems that do not cause critical emissions even under demanding conditions receive this coveted certificate.

An added level of security for sensitive production environments

Cleanrooms are strictly controlled environments in which every single component of a production system plays an essential role. An official confirmation by the Fraunhofer IPA, therefore, offers companies that produce in cleanrooms significant added value. It provides measurable security for audits and quality checks and facilitates the planning of complete cleanroom lines. At the same time, it helps to minimize contamination risks and provides a reliable basis for stable production. In short: A certificate from the Fraunhofer IPA makes the performance of a product objectively comprehensible – instead of merely claiming it.

Fraunhofer-tested cleanroom belts and conveyors from Montech

Montech has relied on innovative, modular conveyor technology for many years – and it develops specialized solutions for sensitive production environments. Three of our belt conveyors have been tested extensively and successfully certified by the Fraunhofer IPA. Certified models include the TB30R-140×1500/VR belt conveyor, the TB40R-400×1500/VR belt conveyor, and the TB30R-140×1500/MR belt conveyor. These models are proven to meet cleanliness requirements up to ISO 4.

Versatile, flexible, modular

Companies in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and semiconductor industries use Montech’s certified belt conveyors to transport catheters, syringes, liquid-handling components, microprocessors, and optical components, among other items. They can be integrated into individual production steps and used to connect entire production lines. Their belts are not only cleanroom-compatible, but also FDA-approved – ideal for sensitive applications. Montech’s characteristic modular design allows users to adapt the belts to new processes easily. Extending, shortening, or changing the line architecture is efficient and inexpensive. In addition to certified belt conveyors, Montech also offers belt widths and lengths suitable for cleanrooms – perfect for users seeking particularly flexible or project-specific solutions.
