Energy Efficient Conveyor

The largest ongoing cost of a conveyor is the drive unit (motor + gearbox).  Striving for greater efficiency saves cost over time and is also beneficial for the environment.  The cost savings can add up quickly and are often greater than one might initially assume.

$1000 Savings in Electricity Cost

To illustrate this dramatic operating cost savings, let’s use this example:  A Montech TB40 conveyor, operating 3 shifts per day, is used to transport evenly spaced product with a total load of 264 lbs.  The energy usage is 2586 kWh of electricity in a year.  Compared to a conventional conveyor, the cost savings can approach $1000 per year.  The cost of the conveyor is repaid with energy savings in approximately 2 years!
